4-Day Birding and Chimpanzee Tour

Morning: Arrive in Entebbe or Kampala, where your guide will pick you up for your transfer to Kibale National Park. Enjoy the scenic drive through Uganda’s rolling countryside, tea plantations, and local villages.

Afternoon: Arrive at your lodge in Kibale National Park in the late afternoon and check-in. Relax and enjoy your surroundings, as you prepare for your exciting birding and chimpanzee adventure.

Evening: Optional guided bird-watching walk around your lodge to spot local bird species.

Dinner & Overnight: Stay at a safari lodge near Kibale National Park.

Morning: After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by expert guides, you will enter the forest to track a family of chimpanzees. Kibale National Park is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, making it the best place in Uganda to encounter them in their natural habitat. Spend an hour observing these intelligent primates up close.

Afternoon: After lunch, embark on a birding walk through Kibale’s diverse forest. With over 370 bird species recorded, including the African pitta, black bee-eater, and green-breasted pitta, the park offers some of the best birdwatching opportunities in Uganda.

Evening: Relax at your lodge after an exhilarating day.

Morning: After breakfast, transfer to Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary for a full day of birdwatching. This community-run sanctuary is a birder’s paradise, boasting over 200 species, including the great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, and white-winged warbler. The wetland is also home to several primates, including colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys.

Afternoon: Continue birdwatching along the trails and boardwalks, as your knowledgeable guide helps you spot and identify rare species. Bigodi’s diverse ecosystem provides excellent opportunities to see water birds, forest birds, and swamp dwellers.

Evening: Return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the day’s sightings.
