- There are more than 144 mammals, 556 bird species, 51 reptiles, and 51 amphibians in Murchison Falls. Murchison Falls is stunning all year round thanks to its large population of African elephants.
- The Murchison Falls National Park headquarters are located at Paraa, which is 85 kilometers from Masidi, and are reachable by car in 4-6 hours from Kampala. The southern gates (Kichumbanyobo and Masindi South Gate) provide the shortest path from Kampala to Murchison National Park.
- With more than 451 different bird species, Murchison Falls National Park is one of the greatest birding places in Uganda. These include the endemic birds of the Albertine Rift, aquatic birds, and Savannah birds.

In addition to chimpanzees, Kibale is also home to a broad range of other animals, including over 350 different bird species, L’Hoest’s monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.
